ClubsACT has made good on its promise to provide free Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training for stallholders with 55 community groups already taking up the offer through its partnership with the National Capital Multicultural Festival.
The promise was made during the 2103 Festival, following calls from the Australian Hotels Association to ban the sale of alcohol at the festival as well as calling for the abolition of RSA exemptions for community events in Canberra.
In response, ClubsACT Chief Executive, Mr Jeff House said “ClubsACT will provide free online RSA training to each community group that wishes to hold a liquor license at the festival – this training will ensure that the event remains a safe and responsible community event.
“The ACT Club Industry sees the Multicultural Festival as an iconic event in the Canberra calendar and we would like to see it continue to thrive and prosper – our support to the community based stall holders is intended to do just that.
“I’m very pleased about our partnership with the National Capital Multicultural Festival and I look forward to enjoying it with the rest of Canberra in the New Year”, Mr House concluded.
